Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) is a global green energy company operating in more than 25 countries – including New Zealand’s Southland with a mission to fuel heavy land transport, aviation, and shipping.

FFI is committed to producing green hydrogen, containing zero carbon, from 100 per cent renewable sources.

 

SOUTHLAND PROJECT  

FFI & Meridian Energy have collaborated with the Murihiku Hapu ki Ngāi Tahu, the mana whenua (traditional custodians) of New Zealand’s Southland region.

 

They are working together to potentially develop one of the world’s first large scale green hydrogen facilities – targeting to commence first production in 2025.
