The greatest contributor to global greenhouse gasses, affecting climate change and leading to global warming is the energy sector.  A growing number of countries are pledging to reach net-zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by mid-century, with the goal of limiting temperature rise to 1.5°C.
